Default Need help!!! About to sell ranger!!

Okay so I am still having problems with my Ranger. I have tried to get help with this before and was unsuccessful. I have a 1995 with the 2.3 standard tranny. I am having problems with the gas milage. It just keeps getting worse. I am spending about almost $800/month on gas... I have replaced the following items: EGR, IAC, PCV, Spark plugs, MAF, I do the oil changes on a regular basis. Regular tune-ups on a regular basis. I am on the verge of selling my truck because of the simple fact that drive 90-100 miles a day and thats just too much gas. Im only getting about 230 miles to a tank. When I was at school today, we hooked the scan tool up to it to watch all the values. MAF is not registering on the scan tool. Timing is off. MAF is not registering on scan tool but we tested it manually and it is still working. There is no way to set the timing on these trucks because the timing is regulated by the computer. Any help? Im about to just sell the damn truck because it is pissing me off. PLEASE HELP!!

I had some of the same problems. I replaced everything you did and MORE!....Including a new timing belt and tensioner. I was getting codes of primary igniton problems and basic timing was off. I went to a junk yard and got a used Ignition Control Module because a new one was 125.00. I paid either 10 or 15 bucks I dont remember. That fixed my truck 100% I was getting 8 miles to the gallon and it felt as though I was trying to pull a house when I started off from stop lights. Get some extra screws form the truck or mustang you take the ICM from and make SURE you put all the screws that hold it on back in. (or it will not be grounded correctly) It is easy but tricky to get at and replace. Good luck with figuring it out.
