that is am old carb car trick, but pulling the bat out you can spike the ECY and fry it...
noe do you have a multimeter? if you do, disconnect the pos side of the batt, then turn the key to the rum position, put your Multi meter on DCV, and place one lead on the pos side of the bat, and the other lead on the batt cable, and see how much voltage is being pulled.
now open the door and and look at the meter and see how much voltage is being pulled.
next start pulling fuses one at a time, till you find the voltage draw, then you need to check that ciruit.
I would bet you have something like a bad light switch, or an aftermaket amp pulling voltage when the key is out
