Default Noise under the hood

Opened the hood & noise at the idler pulley & alternator.
Replaced serpentine belt.
Noise remains. Took it off runs good & quiet!
Replaced idler pulley.
Noise is still there.
Guess I will replace alternator, thing is, it is charging the battery.
Anyone have this fun before?

Take it to an alternator shop to replace the bearings could be cheaper than completely replacing it.

Think I will take the alternator to Autozone first & have them check it out, on a nice day. They do that stuff free!

Well, can't get the darn thing out. Guess I'll have my mechanic look at it. It's in there pretty close & not much room for any breaker bar

Try spraing the threads with a rust treatment then let it sit for an hour or more then if you have extensions to a socket set you could get "Breaker Bar" to work...
