I have an 08 2.3L Ranger and I'm trying to figure out why there is both an electric fan and a clutch fan. I'm sure there is a good reason but it just seems odd to have both. Obviously if you could remove the clutch driven fan you would see some improvement in mileage and get up and go. Being that it's a 2.3L engine it may be like doubling RWHP.
I had a Fusion with a 2.3L engine and I don't recall there being both.
