Default 08 ranger 2.3 L. cam sensor location

my truck is setting an intermittent P0340 code for the cam sensor. my question is where is it located? there is a sensor low on the passenger side of the engine near the front cover that looks like it should be a crankshaft sensor, but i cannot seem to find the camshaft sensor.

i did find the cam sensor after a bit of looking. it is buried under a main wiring harness in the cam cover on the driver's side at the rear of the engine. you really have to look to find it. i used a 1/4 in drive 8 mm socket and about a 4 inch extension to get the bolt out. after that it was easy.
