| | Fuel Pressure Test (help analyze my results)
Please analyze my test results. I changed my filter this morning. It was very dirty. Then I took the truck to AZ and borrowed/loan a fuel pressure tester. It took 8 cycles of the key to get the koeo pressure from 0 to 62. I then started it koer pressure 64. I turned it off pressure went back to 62. I let it sit 6 minutes pressure went down to 54( I had the gauge on finger tight with no teflon). So what do you think how long do I have on the pump?. Should it takes 8 cycles to build up to 62?

It seems that the regulator is working because the pressure goes to 64 PSI when running - exactly where it should be.
A bad check valve usually leaks down very quickly when the key is turned off and yours does not. Even with a bad check valve, the pressure should not take several cycles to come up to spec. Ford says that the fuel pressure should not drop more than 5 PSI within the first minute after shutdown - anything close to that should be OK.
I'd have to guess that your problem is in the intank assembly. The strainer sock could be clogged but I think it is more likely that the fuel pump is just getting tired.

I think you might be right though. the pump might just be getting tired especially after the filter was so clogged.
Anyone else with suggestions please keep the coming

I just tested it again and koeo 62. it went rught up there with one cycle. koer 64. I guess the new filter some injector cleaner and driving it cleaned it up. I bought a new stariner for the pump and i will put that on in a few months when i take the bed off for some other work...thanks for your input
