Default NOS system for my 2.3L

I have been doing some reading on how to get some more pep out my little 2.3 Ranger. Turbo Chargers and Superchargers are a ways out of my price range, and everyone knows that e-chargers are the biggest scam on ebay. I have found this NOS system on ebay and was wondering if it would be worth the money and how bad would it be my engine. Any advice would be grateful.

Are you aware of how much a shot of nos is?

And you got to do a lot of engine prep for it to withstand that without blowing something apart

No dude it's not worth the hassle. You will burn your engine up with the quickness or spend lots of money to have it able to handle it.
Your better off putting another other motor in

No i am not, how much is a shot? Can you give me a list of engine prep? The engine runs very smooth and has received very good upkeep from me as well as the previous owner and has about 123000 on the odometer. I would keep each shot at 50hp or below, and I would want to take extra precaution not to harm the engine.

Yes don't be like a silly ricer Honda driver and blow your motor to gain a second if your lucky. Dude it's a truck with a 4 cyl it's not made for impressive speed.

Somewhere close to everything, the pressure it puts on your parts is crazy. You need racing grade everything. Leave that stuff to professional drag racers

And it's just a quick burst of power. Your talking 100$+ for a 50-shot to beat whatever Honda your street racing

Thanks for the quick replies 63merc and RangerSport4x2, I knew that the use of Nitrous Oxide was potentially harmful to the engine, but I did not realize that it was quite so serious. I would rather have a slow truck that drives, than a fast truck with a blown engine. I apologize I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this stuff. My main concern is keeping up at 70mph on the highway, i go up a hill and drop down to 60mph. It sucks!! I guess i should have asked if you guys knew of some ways to recover lost hp from an older engine.

Lucas oil fuel system cleaner 10$ pull the whole bottle in with a full tank, have them add some oil detergents next time you get your oil changed too.

Years of carbon buildup will slow you down alot

Lol well it's obviously not going to give you more power but it will definitely help recover some of what you may have lost

No problem. Just didn't want you to do something silly like that. It really puts a lot of stress on engine.
Here are some things to give you some pep.

Seafoam treatment in oil gas and vacuum line.
Air intake mod.
Aftermarket exhaust
Spark plugs after seafoam treatment.
You could change reared gearing
Spark plug wire mod if you have 8 plug engine. Power programmer
That's about all I can think of
