Unhappy 87 ranger w/ new motor no heat?!

Hey guys i got a dilemma. I just put a new (to me anyway) 2.3 liter 4cyl motor out of another 87 ranger and got everything i could think of and see connected up again and the old motor i took out im pretty sure had close to a quarter million miles on it but the heater in it worked amazing and now that i have the new motor in and running i got no heat what-so-ever. I wouldnt worry bout it too much but i live in montana and my wife has to ride in this truck too. Any suggestions on things i might have missed or things that might need to be changed? Please help and thanks in advance

Make sure there aint a shipping plug left in some where. Is the thermostat correct for the engine?

Have you tried removing one of the heater output hose at the firewall and bleed it? Or get one of those flush kits with the T's in it to accomplish the same thing. If it was working good before, it's either air-locked or the thermostat function has changed. Not sure if your '87 has the vacuum operated hot water valve.

You did reconnect the heater hoses, right? Look at the link in my signature for troubleshooting.

Well the first thing I looked at was the antifreeze level and that was the problem, just filled it before work this morning and tried it out. That was the only thing wrong with it thank god. But if it ever happens again I at least have a good reference guide to look at so i know what's wrong
