Default 92 Ranger 2.3 won't start, fuel pump runs continuously
My 2.3 when key turned on, pump runs continuously, wont start. after a while, (5 to 10 mins.) the pump will shut off and it starts and runs, ( a little rough). Afterwards. It will start right and run every time. But if you let it sit for an hour or more, same thing. I have replaced the relays. The fuel pressure is reading right at 40psi at the fuel rail. Any help would be great. I'm new on here. Thanks

Try cleaning iac and egr with carb cleaner.

99 2.5L throttle cable mod. spark plug mod. k&n intake. flowmaster exhaust.

Try fuel filter aswell

No thy wont make the pump go out. Plus maybe clean the maf with maf cleaner.

99 2.5L throttle cable mod. spark plug mod. k&n intake. flowmaster exhaust.

Replace your fuel pump... It's letting you know it's failing

97 Ford Ranger 2.3L 4 CYL... SIDE STEP BABY.... (road worthy.... Well almost) .

i have 93 ranger 2.3 doing same thing. so far new fuel pump fliter coil pack plugs wire lots of other stuff key turned on pump runs continuously wont start fuel pump relay clicks truck run rough lost of power blow black smoke

changed main computer stop every thing truck run lot better even with 580K miles
