ok so i own a '94 ranger xlt with a 2.3L fuel injected. ive been havin a fuel problem for the past few weeks. the fuel pump turns on when ingnition is on. pump is pumping fuel while cranking over but not enough to run. we replaced the relay and fuel filter thinkin maybe it was clogged. turned out it wasnt. started up with throttle wide open and had some trouble but it started up. ran for five mintues to warm up and clean out so it idled correctly. seconds after goin to drive it around the block it started sputtering like it was runnin out of fuel. died completely and now wont crank over. dad and i rented a fuel pressure test and it didnt read any fuel pressure at the fuel rail. the fuel filter is full of fuel. any ideas about whats going on??

Well if there isnt any pressure maybe need to change the pump. Do u have any codes.

99 2.5L throttle cable mod. spark plug mod. k&n intake. flowmaster exhaust.

we put in a new pump today. it started up and i was able to get it to idle but it was really rough. im startin to think maybe the idle air control valve has somethin to do with it.

i checked the codes and i got a code 90.. there is no code 90..

Idk what that is. Try cleaning the iac and egr.

Do you have fuel pressure now? If so what is it?

Also may check for vacuum leak, dirty MAF sensor can also cause these issues

ok so i replaced the fuel pump system and iac valve. i dont have the money to get the test from the parts store again for the fuel pressure after replaceing the pump. i havent checked the maf sensor yet cuz i didnt have any cleaner with me and i didnt want to put it back on without cleaning it. i started up the truck and it idled but still pretty rough. i noticed that ive have had to pump the gas while cranking it over for it to run. ive never had to touch the accelerater before experiencing this problem. i let it run for a while occasionally rising the rpms to let it "clean out". i set the idle a little higher and it sounded like it was runnin perfect even tho i can hear it missing. i started pullin it out of the driveway and right when i got like 10 ft. the truck started acting like it was acting like it was running out of fuel and died even tho i was pumping the gas the entire time. so its running just fine while its idling even tho i set the idle higher. but dies when i try to take it for a test run??
