Default Tips for a weekend mudder?

So since building a drift truck involves a lot of work and a lot of money, I've kinda been steered in the other direction. Any tips on building a weekend mudder?

All-terrain tires

Small lift/ level

Locker/lsd

Get familiar the search function, it will be your best friend.

Tip: put that you are searching for in quotes: best tire vs "best tire". It concentrates the search on the phrase rather than two key words.

If you are really planning on mudding, get mud terrains

Okay thank you. I think the tires I have now are for gravel hence the G/T so I guess I'm going to have to get new tires. Would all terrains work?

The question needs to be asked what exactly the OP means by "weekend mudder".

How often will the truck actually leave pavement?

Probably 9-10 times a month.

How are mud terrains on pavement? I heard they're loud as hell.

If you are going that much, then mud terrains would be the way to go.

BUT!!! Not all mud terrains are created equal. There is a gray area between mud and all terrains. An aggressive all terrain can be more aggressive than a mild mud terrain and vise versa.

Also, I'm assuming your truck is 2wd, but you don't necessarily need an aggressive a tire on the front since it won't be pushing the vehicle.

Is the truck going to be daily driven as well? Or do you have another car for your main mode of transportation?

Go with mud tires if you're not going to be driving the truck during the week. My Goodyear duratracs look brand new and I've had them for almost 2 years bc I drive my honda mon-Fri and the truck hits the trails on weekends or gets driven around town when I'm not going off road.
