Question 2 questions regarding timing in a '94 2.3L

My first question is, how can you be sure your axillary shaft timing is set right and what does it do? My second question is, what is the sensor on the driver's side of the engine that looks to connect to that shaft (I think it is the cam position sensor)? The Number for the sensor is :F37E-12A362-AA. Thank you very much!

line up the diamond marks to time it properly. contact your dealer with your vin number for information on your cam sensor. I believe from 95 up that auxiliary shaft is used for the cam sensor however depending on your manufacture date you may have that set up as well. if I member right it is circle on crank and triangles on cam and definetly diamond marks on auxiliary pulley. extra note on crank / the keyway should sit straight up / 90 degrees from oil pan flange.
