Well sorta............those cold air kits are actually HOT air kits......your factory one is a cold air unit. Those units actually more time than not let in less airflow than stock and decrease performance........now if you took the time and money to make an enclosure for it to seal it against engine heat and plumbed a 2.5" tube to under the truck for an intake to the enclosure then at highway speeds it would help with a couple of percent
No - more air and more fuel means more combustion.
Won't help much though considering the head of your engine are what is holding back performance - not the intake.
