btw i just added about 150 MORE miles of offroading in an recreation area designed for ohv but i was hunting out there. had to crawl a few times over some rocks when going uphill, a little mud in the creeks, constantly having to back up UP a hill despite loose dirt and gravel, drainage ditches, super awkward mni hills that required flexing and other stuff. i never got stuck once. its all about the tires and the driver. obviously there were a few roads that i was not willing to take the risk of going up there with 2wd, in fact im not sure i would gone up with a 4x4 lol designed for atvs but wide enough for jeeps/small trucks. i wish i took pictures/movies but i was much more interested in finding a buck lol

----------

the only time i had an issue and needed my buddy to get out and tell me where the hard pack was, was when i was driving down a road and found out that there was a ravine at the bottom of the road that i would not have made it without fucking my bumper up and probably my headlights haha on both ends so i was stuck with no where to turn around and i had to back up a mile back up the hill before there was enough room to turn around. i had to try several times to find enough hard pack to let me get some momentum and traction to get up the hill. this is the only time i wished i had 4 wheel drive but i got out just fine.

How the hell did your wheel not spin than?!? I can't flex for crap in dirt, all my tire does is spin and dig me a nice hole. Go up rocky hills? Spin (and chew up my tires). Heck crawl over a tall curb on asphalt = spin. Im so sick of having an open diff....

i go slow, if i can help it , i make the passenger tire do the climbing work like when i am half way out of the drainage ditch, the pass tire is out of the ditch and the drivers tire is still in. my tires get chewed up when i am scared that i wont make it and i gun it (if i get stuck out there i will be stranded for hours, possibly overnight) idk man, i had this one area where i had to go up a hill and clear a 6 inch ledge gap with pretty big chunks of rock as traction and i just climbed right up. i am usually moving about 5 mph when i am drive by hunting.

----------

rocks are rarely shaped like curbs with a straight up wall, they sometimes have a slight curve to them, im sure that helps

----------

note: this past week i had an ice chest and camping supplies in the bed however, we unloaded most of it at one point and i still had the same performance.

All the hills I encounter are impossible to clear going slow "crawling" up them. ill try it in 1 or 2 ever so slowly and half way up ill spin and slide. Momentum is my trucks best friend. You sure you don't have a l/s? Lol

im positive i wish i did! and yes momentum ftw! idk man, i learned how to drive my truck i guess? i rarely do it in first gear, sometimes 2nd gear but the truth is that it does not deliver the power fast enough if i get in trouble or start losing traction. weird i know!

Well if your ever down here teach me your voodoo magic Haha. Granted I've never been stuck and I've made it up every hill I've attempted (as far as I remember Haha) but im just really sick of the tire spinning. 4wd is pointless out here, but a locked 2wd would be perfect. Next stop detroit locker! (I wish).

im looking for videos of the some of the roads. most either show the easy roads or the atv trails -_-

i went up and down this portion, you cant see it but just to get on the trail you have to clear a drainage ditch about a foot deep at an angle lol that first bump is what he is going through, filmed in 2006 and not maintained so most of the tranches, ditches etc etc are deeper lol

btw this trail is simply for fun, it gets you nowhere! we discovered this after completing all the roads on the south side and figured we would go up the north side so we took this trail thinking it would take us up to another portion but all it does is take us to the main road after like a mile lol. main road goes around it, this is a short cut.

main road, easy peasy but extremely bumpy. suppper annoying after driving on for 12 hours lool

aha! this is probably the 2nd best video but for some reason none of the videos show the hills. you are constantly going up and down a hill lol

----------

just for shits and giggles, this is one of the 5 creek crossings we have to cross on the paved road. they are mostly dry with a few puddles here and there. i will never go after a rain because of this lol

I could view 3 of the 4 on my phone, but ya basically those are similar to the average hill trails we have out here. Those are always fun and very easy with some decent a/t tires. Its the long hill climbs with big rock filled ruts that get ya hahaha.
