Default 1997 Ranger heater core replacement

Hi,
My '97 ford ranger is having problems with the heater core and I plan on doing the job myself. My Chilton's manual is very vague on what needs to be done to get the job done. Can someone help me out and provide a good walk through as to what needs to be done. I know it is more complicated than the older models and requires removal of quite a few items to get to it (instrument panel, steering wheel, passenger air bag cover, right front brake pad, left rear hub cap, right front signal light, etc...)

Removal and Installation

Allow engine to cool. Following all safety precautions (refer to Section 03-03) and using a thick cloth, turn the radiator cap slowly to the first stop. Step back while pressure is released. When pressure has been released, tighten the radiator cap on the radiator.

Disconnect the heater water hoses (18472) from the heater core (18476), and plug the heater water hose with suitable size plugs.

In the passenger compartment, remove five screws attaching heater core to the heater air plenum chamber (18471). Remove heater core.

Pull heater core rearward and down, removing it from the heater air plenum chamber. Remove heater core case seal.

For installation, follow removal steps in reverse order. Make sure heater core and heater core case seal snaps into retainer bracket at top of heater core. Check and add coolant. Refer to Section 03-03. Check system for proper operation and coolant leaks.

Basically, the only step I'm missing is to take out the defroster grille, the rest should be pretty easy ! I'm painting my interior...
