I am getting a creaking and slight rattling sound when I accelerate. Not at all speeds but Mostly when I speed up quicker than more of a smooth gradual slow speed up. The rattling is when I hit bumps more as well S mixed with the creaking when I accelerate.

I recently replaced my clutch along with the throw out bearing/concentric slave cylinder and pressure plate. While doing this I also replaced the rear u joint and changed my rear differential fluid and put a new gasket on the cover plate since it used to leak. Everything is under the torque specifications.

I'm not sure if any of the components I replaced would have anything to do with the creaking but I didn't have the noise before I replaced the parts.



Someone...anyone please have any input? The noise is driving me insane....

What year is your truck? Can you tell if its coming from front or rear? Maybe recheck what you did and make sure all is tightened up and nothing working its way loose? Make sure you didn't forget to put some bracket back on something? My truck squeaks because of the leaf springs, but there are so many things that can squeak and rattle...loose exhaust can rattle....to many things to guess I think? Good luck with it.

My truck is a 98 xlt. I know my front sway bar squeaks but that's a totally different noise from the creaking I'm hearing. It's more of a deep door creaking with more of a bass tone than being really high pitched.

I was almost sure it was the trans mount so I took it to a local trans shop to have them use an impact on the cross member bolts, trans mount bolts And bell housing bolts. Then I went to drive it and it still creaks.

It sounds like it's coming from the center of the firewall and a little lower - maybe behind the center kick panel . I know sound can travel though so I'm wondering if I should check the u joints... Although I'm not sure if they would creak during accelerating

hard to guess a creaking noise? Can you drive it past someone and see where they think its coming from when you accelerate or carefully have someone sit in the bed and see if it sounds clearer or different to them. Be sure if you do that, that the person is sitting and you don't take off fast---a friend of mine got dumped out the bed of a PU once--he was sitting next to the tailgate waiting for them to go forward and waited and waited and decided they weren't going--so he was going to check why and they happened to decide to finally take off when he got up to check and see why they weren't going yet, he scraped the whole side of face on the road... Did you trying bouncing it up and down a little to see if it'll creak?
