Default Pic request: 2.3L lima engine with CAI

I want to see what setups you guys have. I'm thinking of getting one with all the available parts from Vatozone but I'm not quite sure how many pieces I'll need or where I can have the intake routed so as not to be in the way of anything. I've tried search, but I've only gotten unclear answers.

Thanks for the help.

Your stock unit is a CAI, most aftermarket ones will do little to help unless you just wish it to be purdy

Hmm, really?

I thought the CAI's didn't have the plastic shroud around them? The airflow seems kinda restricted as of now.

CAI stands for Cold Air Intake. most aftermarket units are actually Hot Air Intakes.

Your factory unit pulls air from outside the engine bay most aftermarket units dont. hence they dont do what they are supposed to do

Well what's the difference between an intake introducing hot air rather than cold air?

hot air is less dense than cold air, the more air the better the efficiency.

This is true but even more importantly:

The cooler the charge, the less likely the charge is to "pre-ignite" by itself before its supposed too.

Same reason why turbo-guys use monster 5" intercoolers up front.
