I run 31s (stock) with 4.10s an the 4.0 and I can easily break the rear end loose. Having a manual helps with mpgs. I get around 19.

Yeah I know the whole idea behind the bigger-engine-working-less, as apposed to a smaller-engine-working more, I experienced that when looking for my car (debate bewteen 4.6L V8 cougar, and a 3.8L V6. Ended up getting a Grand Marquis with the 4.6L). But, now I'm looking for a truck due to the all around usefulness of them, but the need for 4x4 for snow and offroading is still a must. ALSO! Any one have ideas on actually buying it? Yes it's been a while but I'm still looking. I'm debating whether to grab a cheapo truck and build it up, or save it a while and get a more expensive, but fully put together one. I'd love to build one up, but I don't think I have enough experience with rebuilds for that.

Just go on autotrader and do a search. That's how my dad found mine, then gave it to me.

The buy cheap and fix plan almost always ends up more expensive than just buying a decent truck.

I would be surprised if you would be able to find one with 4x4. Let alone a 90+
I have a 1992 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4, 2.3l 4cyl 5-speed. Reg cab, long bed. Don't know how rare it is but I've got one. lol108_0227.jpg

I have searched and searched for other 4cyl owners on here who want to beef up their trucks or who have, but there aren't many. I'm learning a lot about gearing and differentials, but all from 6cyl owners who aren't sure about the 4cyl's. I'd like to learn more about how the 4cyl's do with regearing and bigger setup (wheels/lift).
