Hello everyone,
Im having a high oil pressure problem with my 1983 2.0L. The oil pressure gauge reads high and the engine slowly spits oil out of the breather cap on top of the valve cover.
I know the rings are good and I have replaced the pcv valve and all lines to it.
The only thing left I can think of is there isn't enough vacuum pressure to make the pcv valve work. I'll be checking that this weekend but have no idea what else it could be.
Any thoughts?

I'm not familiar with this particular engine, but I have seen a similar problem on others. The first thing I would do is pull the breather cap and put your hand over it to make a tight seal. Do you feel your hand being blown away? If so, you most likely have a blown head gasket that is blown between the cylinder and an oil passage. Could possibly be a crack in the block or head, but more likely the head gasket. Also check the color of your oil, this could also give you an indication.

Oil I good. No discoloration at all. Pretty sure my block and head gasket are good.
