Default How to remove Crankshaft Pulley + Hub?

On the crankshaft pulley There is one bolt in the middle I'm assuming once I loosen it it the pulley comes off?
I was also hoping for some tips on how to remove the hub behind the pulley? Just unbolts off? Do I need a puller/special tool to remove it?
Its for a 96 2.3 Ranger

remove the bolt and you need a puller to get it off. not sure on the hub you are talking about I will have to look at one of my rangers to see

Default Any or your rangers have a slight wobble on crank pulley?

Only got 110kms on mine, well taken care of, all tune-ups done, It's a bit sluggish and chuggling gas and can't find anything else wrong with it so I'm hoping this might be it.

are you sure it wobbles, that would shake the motor pretty good. you can use a indicator to see it it really is or something easy like rest a marker at it side and let it hit the high spots. the markings on it may make it look like it is runng out of round.

Default I think it's alright

Someone told me it's most likely just the rubber on the pulley and a little wobble is okay. I have no vibrations anyway

i have a 98 ranger xlt, 2.5l 2wd.. replaced motor at 109,485 miles. spun the rod bearings had a crack between valves on #1..got a long block motor from PROformance..thru autozone. long block, just had to use my external stuff, oil pan and valve cover. i have a slight oil leak, think its from oil pan. and now my cam pulley is wobbling and hitting the timing cover. i have 505 miles on new motor. it runs like a champ, new clutch and throw out bearing also. i think the oil leak is from oil pan though not really sure, its not the valve cover i know that. i have some oil residue coming thru the timing cover where it snaps together, and some oil residue on top of my coil packs( yeah its the goofy 2.5l with 8 plugs). any tips or tricks to get this oil leak fixed, and about the cam pulley wobble( you can hear it and see it while motor is at idle, higher rpms it goes away. josh

Well for the leak I would loosen all the pan bols 2-3 turns then retighten in an opposing pattern, as for the cam pully is it a weld or a keyset? Neither should be doing that but one there's hope the other, eh, no.
