Default engine cuts out while driving?

I have a 95 ex cab with a 2.3 in it and about 200k. Truck has ran perfect until now, when i take off from a stop(sometimes while crusing too) it cuts out hard, i let off the gas and it goes back to normal. I've replaced my tps that was faulty but still having this issue. Any advice would be great. thanks

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. I'd start with the fuel filter since it needs it at this point anyway.

I have a similar problem with the motor I just replaced. Mine doesn't cut out as hard as yours, but when I put my foot into the throttle, it just sort of dogs down and then picks up. I replaced the fuel filter when I replaced the motor so I don't think the problem is there. I'm wondering if the TPS may be bad or I have a small vacuum leak.

I know this is an old topic, but it seems a few people have had similar issues with a Rangers cutting out or bucking while driving. One of the easiest and cheapest things to do first is check the ground wires. We've had several Rangers have ground wire issues that cause all kinds of funny driving problems.

Take the ground wire off the battery, unbolt it on the engine (even if it looks fine) and remove the ground wires on the radiator support. CLEAN them with a wire wheel or brush really good. Clean the block where the ground wire connects and reattach them all.

Again, sorry for bringing up an old thread, but I'm sure someone else is having this same issue. Good luck.

Grounds are often overlooked along with corrosion in the large cable connectors.

No solution to the hesitation and bog problems noted, but FWIW, I would check the MAF for cleanliness. Even little bits of 'stuff' on the wire(s) can cause problems. Q-tip and gentle cleaning can make a big difference.
