so I received a rejection sticker for my parking break because the guy told me that when he put it in reverse, it didn't hold properly.

from what I've seen on here, the parking break is self adjusting and would just be easier to replace the whole thing? or is there a way to add tension near the mechanism itself where the foot pedal is?

well, when inspections were required in Oklahoma, everyone had functioning brake, signal, and head lights. now, on a daily basis, i see people who have no idea that one (or both) brake lights are out.

other than that, yeah, the inspections are a bunch of shit!

I lived in Kansas and never had inspections, moved to Texas and good god. Any county bordering Tarrant county has emission and rest state is safety inspections.

I bought my ranger and it had to pass emission.

Well after tune up, replacing both O2 sensors I took it back and then spitted out another code. Fail

So I then said screw it and took to aunts house 2 counties away and PASS

Funny thing is I was told code was for EGR stuff.
I took to another place and no codes,

Talk about a bunch bs and a gimmick for getting money!

What does he mean hold properly? like just put it in reverse on flat land and put the parking brake in? that sounds like a load of BS and i would take it some where else, and if they pass it i would call what ever state agency controls inspection licenses.it sounds to me like they are trying to take you for a ride since shops like to charge A LOT for rear brake jobs.
