Default New Long Block

As of last Friday my truck hit 241k miles and at the same time the heads warped. I was just going to have the head replaced but I am also having some bearing problems. My local shop is charging me between $1,900 and $2,300 to purchase and install the rebuilt long block. Suggestions on this? What all else should I expect to replace? Getting a new truck is out of the question. Body and frame are fine on mine. Interior as well. This is the cheaper option for me since i love my truck!

Info about truck: 2001, XLT, 2.3L standard.

Do it yourself. Cheaper, and you'll have fun doing it.
