Default help me!!!!!

Okay guys...I have a 98 ranger 2.5 liter 2wd...manual trans 171xxx miles

OK so about a week ago the timing belt broke...so I took it off and replaced it...all the marks were dead on...not even a tooth off....put everything back together and it fired right up...now this is where the problems began...upon driving I noticed i had no longer had a high rev and if i shifted late after the rpms got too high...it bogged down and literally felt like i downshifted 2 gears....so now to problem number 2. It was a gorgeous day yesterday so I decided to go fishing...drove to the lake just fine..mind you its 5 minutes from me...I stayed for about 6 hours and jumped in my truck....now upon starting it up....a HIGH pitch squeal came from the power steering pump and I have no power steering o and on top of that the engine started knocking...please help guys...I love this truck

Alright, can I get a repost of your issues with some semblance of grammar? I can't make heads or tails of what you're saying.

Timing belt had broken so we replaced everything was dead on... we started it up and I drove it. Upon driving I realized if I went to shift at high rpms the engine bogged down...it would feel like you downshifted 2 gears.... problem 2..high squeal from power steering pump...had no power steering...assuming I just need to replace that..but when the squeal started so did a knocking in my engine...what could have caused that? Sorry about the grammar...I have a tendency to just ramble on.

This is much more comprehensible, thank you.

The steering squeal doesn't seem like it could be related to a knock, that sounds more like coincidence to me.

Does your engine knock all the time, or only under certain conditions?

OK so I figured out I was a quart low on oil...filled it with oil and knocking was stopped...now the squeal has been resolved as well...the mount to the engine that holds the power steering and ac puppies broke loose....all of the bolts came out of the mount...now to just figure out the first problem

when you say it feels like it is bogging down, do you mean to say it feels like you UPshifted 2 gears, ie. from 3 to 5?

I don't know the size. I assume you will be getting a used engine? That engine should have the bolts.
