Default 96 to 91 engine swap ??

Will a 91 computer work on a 96 2.3 engine?
Old motor was 2.3 also.

Probably not since the 96 might be OBDII.

The motors will be the same, but the harnesses will be different. You can use the motor if you are willing to swap out the sensors and harness from the old motor.

Basically swap out anything from the old motor that isn't the same on the new motor. Excluding whatever went wrong on the old motor of course!

I am very interested in doing this since the 96 motor has more power!
Should I swap computer and harnesses from 96???
Or just keep 91 wiring as much as possible?
Any help appreciated

Well, if you want the extra power, I would suggest swapping the whole harness and computer over, as a bit of that power came from revised fuel mapping.

OK got passed my Clutch trany issues on this project.
My question is 91 has 4 wires 2 orange 2 gray together and 1 running alone to the Crank sensor.
How should i hook up to 96 engine??? I think it has 3
I`ll check colors on the other wires.
Help Please!

DANG Do I need to swap the sensor for the 91 on the 96 motor?
Been told I need to tap and thread block and put sensor on.
Can anyone tell me if 96 sensor will work with 91 computer.

lmao I wish I knew.
I guess I`m going to pull the motor again and drill and tap the 91 sensor on the 96 block.
This is only way I have heard of working.
Wish I would have done it the first time before getting all this practice, pulling and stabbing the motor.
Any thoughts appreciated
