Default whats wrong

i have a 90 ford ranger 4cyl 5spd. went off roading and the truck did great, but on the way back starting having a problem. the truck starts real rough almost like no fuel. once it starts it idles alrite but if i hit the throttle once it hits about 2,700 rpm the truck dies. i've replaced the fuel filter O2 sensor, and checked to see if the cadalitic converter was clogged. any ideas on what the problem could be.
