Default running rich and a little miss

ill start by saying sorry for the book but i am having trouble getting my truck running right after replacing the head gasket. blew the head gasket and cracked the head wile apart i replaced the o2 sensor, heat lines, theromstate, cleaned the trottle body and intake manifold with throttle body cleaner, both coil packs, plugs, and plug wires, ICM, engine coolant temp sensor (the one to the computer). After getting it back together it started running rough and rich codes for the (egr out of range) and MAF came up so i cleaned the MAF and replaced the egr valve and the egr positioning sensor lost the MAF code but now got egr not enough flow would that cause my ploblem. i dont know a whole lot about gas engines i do performance work on diesel pickups. my next think to try is the fuel pressure regulator i just picked up tonight figured for $20 it was worth a shot. if you have any ideas or tips please let me know im running out

Was going to ask what the fuel pressure was because it sounds high. Let us know after you replace the regulator. If it is still high look for a pinched fuel return

Off work tomorrow going to replace the FPR and check fuel pressure. Should I take the shader valve out and put a gauge into it or can I check it like a tire with the shader on it

Leave the "core in" and just screw on the gauge.

not sure if you have done the test already. these are the tests you want to do and the results you are looking for

screw the gauge right onto the valve no need to remove anything but the cap if it is there. if you have a cheap tester sometimes you need to wrap Teflon tape around the shrader valve first to prevent leakage

KOEO 35-45psi

KOER 25-35( or about 10 psi less then KOEO)

KOER with the vacuum line pulled off the FPR 35-45

turn the truck off and watch the gauge.....you don't want it to go down more than 8psi in 5 minutes

remember checking for codes often is your inexpensive diagnosing friend
