Re: Crankshaft sensor question
I was backing out of a parking place one day and the truck died. it wouldn't restart. It had done this before but it had been quite a while since it wouldn't start. Usually, I would wait a few hours and it would start again.
This time the ranger turned over but wouldn't start even after waiting a few days. I checked to see if I was getting fire to the plugs and they were firing. So, I decided to try the crank sensor because it was a cheap fix if it worked. The plugs smelled of gas when I changed them.
Now, I have torn it down again to make sure all of the old sensor is gone. The ranger will fire, but won't start. I just wondered if the belt didn't slip this time. My next step is to buy a code scanner and see if that tells me anything. There isn't anywhere I can't rent one around here. Thanks.
