Default in severe need of help

my brother just flipped his 99 ranger 2.5 off a bridge but we think it is salvagable. but we are unsure on what all we have to do to the motor in order to start it . it was upside down for about five hours. someone told me to just pull plugs and crank it over a few times but i thnk there is more to it than that. any help would be greatly appreciated. we dont have long to fix it.

First would need to verify no fuel lines are broke.

Reset the inertia switch. located in passenger foot are up on the fire wall

You could try cranking it over then.

I would at least let it sit right side up for a while with the oil plug removed. Put in fresh oil

Left that minor little detail out the first time. You need to drain and refill EVERYTHING. Engine oil, coolant, trans, power steering differentials, and transfer case.

You really think your going to just "fix it" after he flung his truck off a bridge into a creek? Some things are simply beyond bondo and banging it out in the garage.

I know I'm not the only one wondering this. How did your brother manage to flip his truck off a bridge into a creek?
