You can check the part # and see if it fits your year K&N website or SummitRacing.com

Re: cold air intake systems for 93 2.3
Leave the stock one. It was designed from the factory properly as a CAI. The aftermarket kits are a total joke and just suck hot air from under the hood. They add nothing. You gain nothing. You might even lose HP. Don't waste your money.

You can get a K&N filter to fit your stock air box can help for less money.

Re: cold air intake systems for 93 2.3
If you want get a good filter for the current box that is in there, but they're right. The aftermarket cone filter kits are really a waste. They suck in hot air, and it's like paying nearly 300 dollars just to have your motor breathe more inefficiently... if you want to do SOMETHING to your intake... Make sure you don't have a baffle in the intake pipe, and ditch the snorkel in the airbox.

Re: cold air intake systems for 93 2.3
Im sorry, but I put the stock intake back on my expedition and it does not kick down like it used to. Its starved for air. It used to be, that if I wanted to pass someone and put her to the floor, it would kick down and shit and get. Now, its slugish as shit and wont rev out before the shit.
You people can say all you want about a free flowing intake, I will be putting it back on. It may not increase my fuel mileage, but it sure does make a difference at WOT.
----------
Infact! I put the stock back on without stacey knowing. The next day when she drove it, she said something was wrong with the truck, that it did not (in her words) "get up and go" and felt like it was "lagging" And sure as shit, she was right.

That's wonderful for your expedition, which is not a 93 2.3 ranger

Except where there is no restriction. But if you want to throw your money away on a blind assumption rather than facts backed up by data, it's your choice and loss. Knock yourself out.

Re: cold air intake systems for 93 2.3
the stock air filter is restricted. plain and simple.
I hate the term "CAI" because your right, its not a "cold air intake" but it is a "free flowing intake" which is what it should be called. And it provide less restriction. Same as a "drop in" K&N. Less restriction over stock air filter.

Re: cold air intake systems for 93 2.3
I dont know what's worse, CAI or HID threads.....everyone is on a dang role today.
OP, the topic has been covered many times, search and you will see. This is turning into another debate as ALL CAI and HID threads do, so im closing it. Just do what you want and if "you" like it, that is all that matters
