Dealership now recommends 5,000 I think.... I usually go to about 4K then I start planning for the oil change in the coming weeks...

5000 on a Mixed blend

7000 on full synthetic

i change mine every 4000 using Valvoline Dura blend....but i am REALLY picky about my maintainence

once every 1 year or so. Maybe longer. I rarely drive my truck....about 3000miles a year.

The reason automobile manufacturers say to change every 5000miles or so, is because every time you change your oil, it introduces 'harmful vapors into the air'
anyways, change it 3000miles 3months if on regular oil, or whenever the synthetic tells you to.

On my '90 I would do it every 3k to 5k. Until it started burning so much oil, then I'd just add more every so often. Poor truck.

What year is your Gran P.? I had a 76, kept it 13yrs. I change mine various times, from 3,000 - 10,000 and never had a motor go out or burnt oil.Changing oil is not absolutely necessary at 3,000. I've done all of my cars this way and kept all from 7 - 13yrs. I have a 98 Mitsu Eclipse turbo in the garage now that I bought in 97 and still the motor is as smooth & powerfull as day 1.
