i change mine every 5k... i had to get it in line to do it on the even 5,000 mile mark since it doesn't have an oil change indicator like my town car... My town car has "xx% oil life remaining" indicator on the overhead console, so I know when to change it...

I get the local Ford-Lincoln-merc dealer to do mine - $29 full service (oil/filter/ect ect) and get my tires rotated on a regular basis also... My Ranger and Town Car gotta last me for years...

When I had my last oil, it was about that price, and yes, it was Synthetic oil.

For that price, I figured let them do the work.

I could never pay someone else to change my oil. No offense at all to those who do. Believe it or not, I had a friend pay someone to change his oil, they forgot to reinstall the drain plug and they didn't even pour oil into the motor. He drove off, BOOM, dead motor.

Changing oil is one of those things I prefer to do myself so I know it was done and done right. I change mine every 3000 miles with Castrol GTX high mileage and K&N oil filters or Motorcraft filters.

To each their own.

For the life of me I don't understand how someone can forget to pour oil in the motor when that's what your job is to do.When you work on someone's car you should triple check your work.

i just changed my oil this morning. and today i got nice suprise, in south florida i woke up to 45* outside. now i know all your northerners will say thats nothing, but c'mon, thats way too cold to be crawling under the truck! needless to say i changed it with filter in less than 10 minutes, paid $25 for all the stuff. $29 for someone to do it is worth it if your really busy, but i just sit around the house all day, so i enjoy these types of things.
i've heard some horror stories about cars being serviced, so i try to avoid the shop as much as possible, 1 have only taken the truck there once and that was for an alignment. but a ford dealership i'm sure isnt one of those places where they forgot to put the plug back in and don't put any oil in the engine.lol thats what jiffy lube is for

You poor thing! It's a miracle you managed to survive in such frigid, Arctic-like conditions!

You guys in Florida got it made.

I guess to each their own it right... but when I can get a full service for $29...and I'm not climbing up under a car for that... And I have the truck and that big old Lincoln and no place to change oil or nowhere to dispose of the old oil... To me under $30 is cheap.... and if they mess up they're responsible for whatever happens...

Well at my Local Auto Zone they take the oil. So i just put it in the oil bin at the auto zone. And i usually change my oil in the back of my neighborhood sense they never finish building houses there.

But my local Autozone is doing a special i can get the 5qt of peak oil for 11.99 with filter.
Great deal sense i need to change my oil..
