No power to the fuel pump
Ok my uncle just bought a 90 ranger with the 2.3. It hasn't been running in about 3 years. We pulled the bed off, pulled and drained the tank. Installed new fuel pump. We are not getting any power to the fuel pump. All fuses are good. I have checked the shut off switch under the dash, and even wired around it, so there is no way that could be the issue. New to Rangers, therefore do not know much about them. Is this a common issue? Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Chuck

are you getting spark?
ecu relay?
fuse pump relay?
check for power at the inertia switch?

He mentioned he checked fuses, but I agree he should double check them. one reason i asked him to check for sprak is because if the ecu fuse or relay is bad it shuts off the fuel system.
To the OP I am sure you know this but power is only sent to the FP for a few seconds after the key is turned to on. you need to check for power right when you turn the key to on!
