Default 97 ranger, no heat

I have a 1997 ranger with no heat. The temp gauge goes up about half way, I back flushed the heater core and both inlet and outlet hoses are hot. Any ideas?

Very much air coming out of the vents? I had a similar problem with a car and found that mice tried to build a nest in my fan and blocked off most of the air!

Air flow is excellent. The problem just suddenly happened. Everything had been working fine until 1 month ago.

Does your HVAC control work at all settings ? windshield, floor, dash and so forth ? and does your temp control work smooth, it could be stuck on a cold setting, just a thought.

I am out of ideas at the moment, will look in my Haynes book for other ideas. How about the flaper in the airbox, does that open and close.

unhook heater core hoses use compressed air to blow water.coolant from heater core, use some rubber hose and a funnel and fill the heater core up with CLR let that sit for hours and them flush the heater core with the garden hose both directions, reassemble fill with coolant and bleed system.

I still think that the problem is in the air box.the control linkage must have busted and the flapper is in the cold position. Have not heard back from Jmattle yet so I don't know how he made out.

How do I get the GD dash off? I can move the driver's side, but I can't get the passenger's side to budge. I've looked online & there are several different ways to get it to come off, but I can't get any of them to work.

HELP!

----------

Also it feels like the problem is at or near the top of the dash.

I would diagnose before you start pulling things apart.........removing the dash is a big job.....Ford allocates about 8 hours for it.......have you investigated the blend door......there are methods of fixing the blend door without removing the dash.........did you look at the link I gave you?

* you can pull the glove compartment/door off and look in and see if the blend door is working?
