1989 2.3 ranger auto wont start
Ive had this ranger about 2 months and its been great to me. She always started up with no issues and drove smooth. It was a one owner truck before me and was very well maintained this truck is clean! This weekend she gave me its first problems since ive owned it. I erove it a few miles and it started losing power and the throttle wasnt responsive. She revved down until she bogged out and died. I checked and had a big hole in the hose leading to the intake and air box. I replaced that and she started up but was still losing power. I made it about doqn the road about a mile before she bogged down and died. After tryting over and over again to start it she fired up and madeit about 4 miles home. I took a look at what could be going on and shes definitely getting spark and i hear the fuel pump (recently changed fuel filter) i also checked my relays and all of them click. My inertia switch seems to be fine and the only thing i can think of now is that the timing is off from the old timing belt slipping. Its had a small belt whine since ibought the truck. Do you guys think its the timing belt or could be a sensor or something else? I hqve some experience working on cars but mostly only mustangs. Thanks for any help guys
