Gutter ball!!!

I think a hard top would be more affective of mileage. I also still think the lift could have something to do with it. Your truck comes with a rake from the factory. This is how they design the aerodynamics, when your truck is empty. And most lifts that I have see level a truck as well as lift it. Meaning the air over your cab is even less likely to pass over your bed and make any difference with a tonneau. But like you said I could be wrong and so could you. And there are plenty of variables that can change mileage.

Driving I-5 is a dream compared to I-90 and Snoqualmie. But that's a cakewalk compared to going through Idaho. That's how I get out to Montana from WA and it sucks. Lookout Pass is the Idaho/Montana border is a cluster monkey if someone wrecks or skids out. And I do get better mileage on I5 but the speed limits also less than here it MT. Lol

i think a light tonneau cover like a under cover with only 50# of weaght add is what i am going to look in to. just need to see one painted and if it looks good i am all over it !

reason there's a rake is so when you load it up it sets level not any thing to do with aerodynamic. least thats what ford says( my local dealer)

I'd agree to that except my cousin worked for GM and Ford a few years back, more like 15 now that I think about it, and they take into account load rating of the truck and riding level with a load, but also with the rake of the truck whats going to give you the best aerodynamics when the trucks empty.

Man I have got to take a look at my truck. I am not registering those kind of numbers, not even close. Are you guys driving Mrs. Daisy or what? I know I have set my alignment and it'll be done shortly when I install the winterforce's, but I cannot imagine getting that kind of a difference. What engines do you have?

spent half the day at my buddy's shop and got to put my truck on the dyno and what i found out was
3 pull with stock air cleaner and put muffler back in air box = 146 hp
pulled out the air box muffler and did three more runs = 150 hp
dropped in the k&n drop in and did three more pulls =159hp
now this is all averages of the three pull but to gain this out of $55 (cost of filter) seems to have had some gains on my millage and the exhaust didn't hurt ether.

just thought i would share my thanksgiving day with you all!

that was with 225-75-15's on, nothing in the bed, no cap, tailgate up. most of the tank was driving on country roads maintaining 55-60 mph
since i added the 235's put the cap back on and put my fire gear in it my mileage took a nosedive to the high 300's a tank
