So what does your exact MPG work out to be? Whatever it is, it's impressive.
You can use whatever oil you want, everyone has their own preference. I prefer synthetic, but in the Ranger I use the recommended Motorcraft oil, which is a blend.

Yeah.... that's the price I pay for having a lifted 4x4 4.0.... 17 mpg... (which is about the same as my dad's '03 F350 6.0 diesel... haha)

You must do highway driving (55-60mph) on most of your tank?
I am 97% city driving and I get 25 to 26mpg. (425 miles a tank)
Earlier this week, I was on the highway, and I got 34mpg (As per my scan gauge) on highway with just the air box mod and KM filter.. Nothing changed else where.

city i get about 19.5 mpg and on highway i get 25 mpg and i use it for work. i drive about 100 to 150 miles per day with a full topper and ladder rack thats 200 lbs. so thats not bad. and all i did was the intake muffler.

well to be truthful its 1/3 city and 2/3 hwy. in town i drive like a gramps but on the freeway it 65 to 70 mph like to night with the rain people here in nor cal cant drive!!!!! so the 48 miles home was stop and go and never got over 55 mph but in the mornings its free moving and people almost run up my tail pipe when iam doing 65 so i tend to do 70.

I'm willing to bet this is all thanks to that 4.10 rear axle he's got. If i recall, blueovelboy has an auto, and all auto duratech 2.3's have 4.10's. Gets that RPM right in it's sweetspot of making plenty of power to keep the truck moving.

beef. even though that motor with auto is a slug but great mileage and that engine with a manual is a rocket ship with good mileage, i'm still gonna choose rocket ship when I get me a 2wd. hahaha.
