87 2.3 mfi 5 speed ranger.

Symptoms: Lack of power max speed 65mph wot on highway.
No power going up incline. Even when down shifting
Engine revs up and down when warm at stops and at idle.

Codes I have gotten is 63 tps signal low and 21 ect out of range.

I have replaced the tps new but it seems to have gotten worst.

Any suggestions? i have a new cat and changed and did a tune up also

mine has the same diagnostic but my valve seals are blown. What is the ECT ?

engine coolant temp sensor.........it senses the coolant temp and reports it to the ECU.......it is not the same as the one for the temp gauge

Sounds like shes tired, but i would replace the ect and fix the codes and go from there. Good luck!

I also replaced the ect a couple of days ago. Now the irratic idle is somewhat gone. But it is getting worst. acceleration is bad and MPG is terrible. I actually heard a pop out of the exhaust today when I could barely make it over a bridge at wide open throttle.....

create a signature, damn you!
