Default starting problem

the other day my 93 ford ranger wouldnt start. I would turn over just wouldnt fire. pulled the fuel pump relay and put it back in now it starts fine. wondering if my fuel pump is bad or do i need a new relay

Step one would be to ignore this and pretend it never happened as long as it doesn't happen again. If it is working fine, it is hard to find a problem without needlessly replacing random parts. Wouldn't hurt to check the fuel pressure now anyway since it is free and easy. It should be 35psi on yours truck. If it is remarkably less, I would suspect a dying fuel pump.

If it does it again, and the same thing makes it start working, its probably the relay, not the pump.

checked fuel pressure it was 32 with truck running and around 35 just turning key to the on position.

Sounds good to me. If it happens again and messing with the relay fixes it, I think the relay will be your problem. $5 fix for a new one.
