Default 2.3 to 2.5?

I'm headed to the junkyard soon and was going to be on the lookout for some 2.5 engines and given that (to my understanding) the 2.5 is a 2.3 with a longer stroke; is it possible to swap the crank, rods, and pistons from a 2.5 into my 2.3?

I'm hoping that it's possible for just a little more power from that engine. I know that a 5.0 would be a long run gain, but as I am a student I cannot afford the engine and transmission, or the time required to put it and the transmission in.

Here's hoping!
1997 B2300, Expo buckets and center console, a bit of blue paint, and the dual ignition mod. Just over 80k Miles.

From my understanding that is the only difference. (the pistons rods and crank). I don't think you will gain as much hp as you will torque.

BTW your gonna have to get a B2500 emblem or it won't work.....

Edit: Evidently the heads on the 2.5s are a higher flowing one.

As long as your truck is a 95 or newer the complete 2.5 will be a bolt in deal.Run your 97 tube header
