Default Belt question....Am I blind???

Ok so I am trying to change the belt on my 1997 ford ranger 4 cylinder and was wondering if there is a way to do it without having to take the fan off?? Or an easy way to take fan off??? I starred at it for 5 minutes scratching my head.

no you dont have to take the fan off. take a 3/8 ratchet and loosen up the tensioner pulley, (i usually have someone else do that why i remove belt). Then loosen the belt from a pulley and you can feet it around the fan through the shroud to get it out from around fan

Whats a shroud... I had the belt off to replace idler pulley. Figured I might as well change the belt too. You mean feed it in between the 2 pulleys right in front of the fan? Its a small gap but might work.

Once you pull back tension, its pretty self explanatory

The shroud is the thing around the fan that helps channel the air.
