Default Pump Speed Signal Fault Error

Hi all

Apologies for this being my first post.

I have a 2004 Ranger XLT Thunder Pickup (UK).

All was well with it until today when the glow light started flashing.

I checked the actual error code which was showed as P1189 - Pump Speed Signal Fault.

I've seen a couple of threads on this error but no actual conclusion to what was/might be wrong or what the fix was.

I should say that there are no other symptoms except for the error code. The car starts first click and performs fine.

Any ideas where I should start looking?

Also where is the fuel pump on this model (I might try cleaning the sensor)?

Regards all
