The problem with the Focus parts on a Ranger, is that the FWD Focus platform isn't compatible with the RWD Ranger platform. I have researched this extensively, and what I have come up with, is that you can use the Focus turbo manifold, but you will lose your A/C. Thats not an option to me, so I've decided the next best plan of attack would be to mount the turbo with and adapter at the end of the stock manifold. The adapter would have to be custom made, as would all of the turbo plumbing. You would also need to run an electric oil pump to get the low pressure return oil from the turbo back up to the pan, since gravity would not be your friend. Basically, a complete custom install. FocusSport is very helpful however, and could point you to the correct size turbo for the motor, and ever help you with the tuning end of things. For a while they were considering building a kit for the ranger, but there wasn't enough interest to justify it from a business standpoint.

I'd almost rather just cam it, get a custom header and run it N/A, but thats alot of money too.......

Beyond cat back, modified intake and tuner, anything else on these motors is money.

Tuner, as in hand held flash device used to modify the parameters in the stock ECU. Allows you to tune the fuel spark and a few other parameters to make the engine run better. Usually you buy one pre loaded with 3 "tunes", and them you can modify a few parameters on your end to optimize it for your vehicle.

They will all cost you a pretty penny, since it will be a 100% custom install, not bolt in kits. You don't need a racing ecu, you just need the tuner and tunes to reprogram your stock ecu. Search for SCT Tuners, or go to Bamachips.com. Doug at bama has dynoed his tunes to achieve 13hp gain on the D-tech. I'm too tired to find links right now, but look around.
