Ok , I am not sure of this but I need to know and I want to be sure but does the 2.3L they put in 89's or around there have a timing belt or timing chain ? I am going to change out my serpentene belt today hopefully but I need to know about the timing , if it is a belt it prob needs to be changed because it never has been, how many miles apart are they supposed to be changed???? anyone .....

It has a belt, lifespan 60K miles. Based on your question you should have someone help you or do it for you as it has f-up potential.
