I am new to the forum, and to Rangers as well. I just bought an '88 with the FI 2.3 and within 4 days of buying it, the rear cam bearing seized up on it. I have been told that in order to get the cam out to replace the bearing, the head has to come off. I currently have the exhaust manifold unbolted and removed (without snapping any bolts), and the upper plenum of the intake is off as well. I have the valve cover off and all the head bolts have been removed and the radiator properly drained before attempting to remove the head.
My question is this. is it easier to remove the intake, or to remove the fuel rail and injector plugs?
Thanks in advance for any help.
