Question 2.3L Head removal

I am new to the forum, and to Rangers as well. I just bought an '88 with the FI 2.3 and within 4 days of buying it, the rear cam bearing seized up on it. I have been told that in order to get the cam out to replace the bearing, the head has to come off. I currently have the exhaust manifold unbolted and removed (without snapping any bolts), and the upper plenum of the intake is off as well. I have the valve cover off and all the head bolts have been removed and the radiator properly drained before attempting to remove the head.

My question is this. is it easier to remove the intake, or to remove the fuel rail and injector plugs?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I went ahead and removed the 2 bolts that were holding the fuel rail on, removed it and took the head off with the intake still attached. So my question is irrelevant at this point.

It's a maroon XLT 5spd. The rear bearing seized up from lack of oil/overheating, and other than that, it's in great shape. Some minor surface rust on the wheel wells and the drivers side rocker and faded paint, but other than that, it looks great.
