Default Hesitation

Well im sure you read about my hesitation when going up a hill and speed dropping dramatically. But today I found out it hesitates when you floor it I tried to get across traffic today and it took a minute to get the power. I guess I need either A Plugs B Fuel Filter or C Fuel Pressure adjustment. But I don't know how to measure it or with what or where the thing is to measure it. Help? I've poured fuel treatment in twice over the last month in a half.

do a tune up.......plugs and wires...air filter.....oil and filter change....fuel filter......dump a jug of fuel injector cleaner in the tank.

im no mechanic but i don't think u can adjust the fuel pressure doesn't the fuel pump create that pressure. I've had fuel pumps go out and at least with my experiences they just quit.

I think it's either the plugs or fuel filter I changed the oil with full synthetic and changed te air filter. So that leaves those 2

I would try the fuel filter and plugs. If you let your gas tank get near "E" a lot, remember rust and dirt gets sucked up as that stuff settles at the bottom of the tank. What you could do is have a shop just look at it and you fix it yourself...after you change the plugs and fuel filter and it still runs like crap. Just my opinion.

That's a good idea. Do you know if I have a low fuel level light? My fuel sending unit is bad haven't had a chance to fix it and money is tight so I have been going by my mileage until I get the money to fix it id like to get plugs and fuel filter first

I don't know if a 97 has a low fuel light or not. I have a 2003 and that does. Check the owner's manual if you have one. If you look around on FRF you should be able to find one.. I've seen them on this site before.

Hesitation...sounds like fuel problem...best bet try changing fuel pressure regulator first...$20 part it's not letting enough gas into fuel line nd injectors causing it to hesitate.
