what is this coolant piece called
2001 ranger 2.3
on the back of the cylinder head, passenger side, there is a silver piece that attaches to the back of the head and the other side accepts one side of the metal tube that goes between the upper rad hose and this metal piece. It holds coolant. I looked up "water outlet" online and it doesnt look like the piece im looking for. Does anyone happen to know what im talkin about? or have coolant diagrams for the flywheel side of the engine?

this isnt too great of a picture but i figure it might help some. I circled the part im looking for althought you can barely see it in this piucture, u can only see the very edge of it.

Is it your heater control valve ? Flow toward the firewall ?

not heater control valve, just replaced that one so i know its not that.
according to a schematic that Rg1Baja sent me, it is some sort of coolant bypass but i still cant find the part online anywhere. the attached pic shows a portion of this thing, the part not shown is the part that broke off and is sitting next to my keyboard.

so.....apparently its called a water outlet adapter, ford part # 8k556 $111 from the dealer....ouch
