That's actually pretty good, the rating for a 95 2.3 5spd is 20/26 with an average of 22.

Tell ya what I did with mine. I un-screwed my old Clutch Fan and installed an electric fan I purchased off Ebay for $110 bucks and got like 5-7 more per gallon...Who'da thought....lol. It has more than paid for itself...Good Luck.

I have a 2011 2.3 5-speed highway driving and got 33 mpg, just keep driving it easy and use the cc when ever possible.

Keeping up on the maintenace and checking the tire pressure at least once a month will help too. More often if you have a known slow leaking tire.

But with 27 mpg, I'm not sure how much more you will squeak out. The electric fan will help.

Keep the air filter clean. Drive it easy. That will help.

I do a lot of highway miles and was averaging the same as you approx 27 mpgs. I dropping my speed from 70 mph to 60 mph and started up shifting a little sooner and now average 31 mpgs. I will admit the drive is not very fun (like commuting is ever fun), and you have to get used to people passing you; but it saves me some money without doing anything crazy.
