Default hotter cam

how much would a hotter cam increase my hp and is it hard to change the cam on a 94 2.3

94 2.3 5 speed regular cab,no intake muffler, ,k&n air filter,silverstar headlamps,aftermarket driving lights,cd player,aftermarket shift knob, looking to buy and install cold air intake,performance exhaust and chip if i can find one.

I dont think you can get one for the 2.3. If you can, it will probably be ground with a turbo in mind, essentially useless to you...

Actually, there's a ton of aftermarket support for the old 2.3, cause it gets used for dirt track racing alot.

As far as how much gain you get, all depends on what cam you go with. No two cams are the same, so they will produce power at different RPM ranges, possibly require different valve springs.

What else have you done to your motor? You won't get the most out of a cam change if the intake and exhaust are stock. And you'll need to re-tune the computer with a larger cam as well.

actuall summit racing has several "hotter" cams avail for our 2.3's, IDK about power gains, or difficulty of install. Just pondering how cool it'd be to dust my buddies old 5.0 stang....of course that'd prob require a turbo motor...LMAO
