Default timing belt

my 1998 mazda(b2500)broke the timing belt i am going to replace it but my ? is once i do that do ineed to ck the timing on it or will computer adjust for it. i know when i do that the timming marks need to be in right place. but i had a it happend in wife's car and a buddy of mine came out with his scanner and he adjusted the timing on it.or can i jus get the marks lined up and insall belt and fire it backup.just a side note when it brokedown this morning i made it to the 24hr XXX store.my buddy said i'll be about 20 -30 min. isaid take your time ,i will be okay for a while.

You should just be able to line your marks back up because their is no way to mess with the timing manually, it is computer controlled

okay got it back together not it will not start cannot tellif i am getting fuel do not hear injectors gretting fuel will turn over, but will not fire.ck marks all are in line and still willnot start.any ideas wants to go but still no fuel any ideas

sorry been a long day .i set the marks back,and it still wiil not start,it is acting like it is not getting any fuel to the injectors. they are not powering up. i went back and reset the marks.and still the same.

you have to make sure the marks are correct. I have not done one myself but I think you use the marks that are on the rear timing belt cover. some people have complained about ford putting 2 sets of marks and confusing people. also if the mark on the cam is off a little try spinning it 360 degrees. the cam goes around twice for one crank. your oil pump has to be line up perfect because the cam sensor runs off of that.......

thanks i got it to start and the belt was slapping a little so i need to go back and put more tension on it now that i was able to start and run for a little bit. but thanks to all for help. should finish after work tonight.
